Resistive Index of Hepatic Artery in Diffuse Liver Diseases

Abstract

|
We measured the resistive index of proper hepatic artery of 62 patients with diffuse liver diseas proven by liver biopsy, using color Doppler and duplex dopper US and then compared the resistive index of the patients with that of 24 clinically
healthy
volunteers.
The results showed that the resistive index of proper hepatic artery in patients with diffuse liver disease (78.1%±5.9) increased more siginicantly than that of the control group (69.4%±5.7) (p<0.000).
Such an increased index could be regarded as one of the findings of diffuse liver diseases and 75% of resistive index was the suggestive cuf-off point for the detection of diffuse liver diseases.
